Day 3

Well, today was just ok.  Mother Nature stopped by and so I didn't feel like doing much today.  Don't think that I didn't do anything though.  I did get my 10 minutes in, but I didn't go outside.  The weather turned out to surprise us and was yucky.  Cloudy, scattered rain, and blah.  So, I stayed inside and packed up the contents of my closet, drawers, and the girls closet and drawers, for my trip out to Valdosta, GA next week.

See, next week I am driving from Willis, TX to Valdosta, GA to have our belongings packed up my movers the military hires.  We are moving to Spangdahlem AB, Germany on the 23 of February.  Me and the girls moved in with my parents this summer after our house sold.  I had my doubts about this, but it has turned out to be a wonderful experience!  Thanks again Mom and Dad, I love you and will NOT put you in that nursing home I always said you'd enjoy.

I did squats and push-ups and sit-ups.  Not great, but at least I've been keeping up with my goal!  I have been thinking and I believe I will also add what I've consumed for the day.  I really want to drink more water, I'm bad at not drinking anything.  Especially at work!  Since I am substituting until I hopefully get a real teaching job at our new base, I am not supposed to leave the kids alone.  So, I can only go to the restroom during classroom changes or at lunch, I'm kinda scared to drink too much and get in a predicament!  Oh well, this will all change soon!

Day 2

Today I was successful!  In the morning, me and the girls helped Papa move big rocks, move sand, and move little rainbow rocks.  Then we picked up all the limbs from the yard and the ones Papa was still cutting from the crepe myrtles.  I guess if I hadn't been doing this you could have found me on the computer, reading, or on the couch letting my rear get bigger.  But nope, not today, because I really do want to make a change, for me and my girls.

I say "my girls" but they are really our girls.  My husband and I call them "the girls" a lot.  They are Linda who is 7 and Isabella who is 5.  I will be talking a lot about them on here, they and my husband are my life!  I thank God everyday for His greatest gifts to me.

This isn't all I did though, I also did 10 minutes of push-ups, sit-ups and worked some on my triceps.  No, this didn't add up to 10 minutes each, just 10 minutes total.  And yes, I did break a little sweat, this is because I was in a sweat suit!

Anyway, I am planning on going for a run tomorrow.  The weather looks like it will be cooperative and I am enjoying the fresh air.  See you tomorrow....

How it Started

I am just another "average Jane" and like most of us could use to lose a little, well a LOT, of weight. I remember once upon a time that I did like to exercise. I also remember having a waistline, nice arms and legs too! But now that I'm married (to a fitness nut), have two healthy daughters and quickly approaching 35, I took a real close look at myself in the mirror (full length) and had to ask, "What did I do to you?"

I want to see what will happen to me if I put in at LEAST 10 minutes of exercise a day everyday in 2010. That's it, this task doesn't sound too hard, right?? I am hoping it will lead to doing more than just 10 minutes a day. My little sister gave me the idea to do this. The exercising part, not the blogging. So, here I go...

The first day...

I am 5'2" and weigh too much!  Because someone other than my husband may read this I do not feel comfortable putting my weight on here just yet.  I did write it down though, so I will be putting it on here one day.  That day just isn't today.

It is 6 minutes to midnight and I did workout my 10 minutes today.  Granted I didn't go into the deep sweat mode, I did take a brisk walk in my parents neighborhood with our girls.  We all really enjoyed the walk and when we returned we helped my dad pick up tree limbs from the yard.  He was grooming the crepe myrtles and there were a ton of sticks.  I would have been sitting on the couch watching another TV show that I really didn't need to watch.  It was a good day.

I hope to do a lot more than this tomorrow. . .  Happy New Year!
